Yes, both procedures use Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC), so you will be comfortably asleep. Most patients breathe on their own during sedation, and the anesthesia team determines the safest approach for each patient.
If your procedure involves sedation, such as a colonoscopy or EGD, you will need someone to drive you home. Procedures performed without sedation, like some capsule endoscopy or flexible sigmoidoscopy visits, may not require a driver. Confirm with our office ahead of your visit.
